Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
